U.S. Consumer Sentiment Index Unexpectedly Improves

Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Confidence among U.S. consumers unexpectedly improved this month from the lowest level in 28 years, reflecting a record drop in gasoline prices that gave temporary relief to household budgets.

It was only a matter of time before consumer confidence increased. However, I don't think that we have hit rock bottom in the market we have just touched the bottom. I believe that the consumer confidence will fluctuate in the coming months.

I dont know if i agree, i think that consumers are very weary right now of the economy and it will take alot to increase consumer confidence. I think the bailout plan and the new presidential team will help, but consumers are not very trusting of the economy right now.
