Healthcare jobs are expected to be in high demand and a great option for people who are interested in healthcare for 2025. Healthcare jobs make up for six out of the top twenty five jobs for 2025. This was found through a ranking from indeed. The healthcare field has been expanding a lot, adding 902,000 healthcare and social assistance jobs in 2024 alone. Over the next decade healthcare jobs are actually projected to grow much faster than average. The salaries for these jobs are also pretty high compared to other fields. Radiologists for example earn a median annual salary of $385,000, while physicians make around $225,000 which is higher than the average salaries for most other jobs. Even for registered nurses, they are also high in demand and making a lot of money right now. However, entering the healthcare field typically requires a significant amount of education and training which is something everyone can't and is not willing to do. Politcial changes in the country are also thought tohave a potential effect on the healthcare field. Trump and his fellow republicans are potentially going to cut federal spending on medicaid or allow affordable care act subsidies to expire and this could lower the demand for healthcare.

Healthcare jobs are expected to be in high demand in 2025, with six of the top 25 jobs on Indeed's ranking coming from the field. The industry has grown rapidly, adding nearly a million jobs in 2024, and is projected to continue growing faster than average over the next decade. Even during the coronavirus pandemic, healthcare was one of the few sectors that did not suffer extensive job losses. With the aging population, healthcare jobs will only continue to grow. The downside is that entering the medical field often requires extensive education and training. The job site Indeed highlighted top healthcare jobs that pay at least $75,000, which show strong growth, and offer remote or hybrid options. Such factors could significantly influence future job demand and attract more individuals to pursue careers in healthcare.
Healthcare jobs are definitely in high demand, but I’ve heard a lot about AI advancements impacting fields like radiology. If AI continues to improve in diagnosing medical conditions, do you think it could lower the demand for radiologists in the long term?
I think that the demand for radiologists is most likely declining with the improvements of AI. I've learned in other classes that healthcare has been experimenting significantly with AI, and even replacing jobs such as medical collectors and lab assistants. I think that there is a world within the next 10 years that we see almost half of the operations within healthcare automated. This is a huge deal, as job displacement is a huge concern, and I think all Americans are skeptical of the accuracy of AI.
This is a very interesting topic because I know that the burnout rate for individuals working in healthcare is very high. I would be interested to see how technological advancements may lighted the work load for workers in the future.
The rising demand for healthcare jobs shows how supply and demand drive wages. Limited workers due to high training requirements push salaries up. However, potential Medicaid or subsidy cuts could lower demand, showing how policies directly impact the labor market.
I am interested in seeing how Trump plans on making food healthier affects the need for healthcare jobs. If everyone ate healthy foods would the need for as many healthcare jobs decrease?
