I have recently watch a 1992 documentary Manufacturing Consent by Noam Chomsky, base on his book of the same name. Noam Chomsky is considered to be the father of modern linguistics and one of the world's leading intellectual. Chomsky considers himself to be a liberal socialist and is very vocal about his anti-government stance. In this film Chomsky shows the techniques and mechanisms government/establishments uses the modern day media to control people's mind. Pointing out that the range of opinions in the media is very narrow and often times deceiving. Whether you think of Chomsky as a conspiracy theorist or a genius( for me the latter) this film is very insightful and can open your mind to how the world actually works.

Thanks for posting this KT. I first heard of this theory of his when Chomsky talks about it in the documentary "The Corporation" which is also enlightening and not conspiracy theoristic. Here is the first link for The Corporation for anyone who would like to watch.
