One office may do real estate, taxes, funerals, and more. Initially this was used as a way to split some overhead costs. Now the last few businesses that still use this route say that it increases foot traffic and builds synergy. I think this is a good strategy for small business owners who can share some overhead cost while being able to send referrals to one another.
