This is a very interesting article because it quantifies environmental damage in terms of countries' GDP. Thus, it shows, I believe, that even a private sector should be concerned about environment without the government telling to do so. Such a substantial decrease in GDP should be enough of incentive for companies to keep their pollution levels down.

It's very interesting to read that the countries affected most by the climate change have no help from the public administrations. Although you can't make an entire country privately run, it may help when it comes to climate change to have a private firm do the research it takes to set reachable goals.
