Congress Wasn't Ready to Repeal Obamacare

http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/25/politics/pence-health-care-speech/index.html

Despite the ongoing debate between the repeal of the Health Care system or not, this article makes me wonder how this road block is going to affect the timeline that Trump has promised on strengthening our economy.  The article states that the decrease in corporate taxes is next on the list after the doing away with Obamacare, however, I wonder if they are going to put the Health Care refinement on the back burner or if they are going to delay the rebuilding of the corporate tax structure.  Since Trump is already walking on eggshells with this country, his word is what can build his credibility, so this will be interesting  to see how he handles the pressure and the short term affects of our economy.

Yeah maybe a wise thing for Trump would be to take on a goal thats got a good chance of being accomplished and not being overly ambitious. It may also be wise to pursue efforts that will be in support of an issue that has the most wide spread bipartisan support. However, I don't see this happening and imagine more controversy and conflict to come.

Not repealing ObamaCare might push back a lot of Trump's plans back. If he lowers taxes then obviously the government brings in less money to pay for the ACA. It would be smart of him to tackle more small issues that would help him with the bidder issues like ACA or Social Security. Build a little momentum.

I agree with Sam. Trump is being too ambitious on creating these laws that are not being supported and instead being shut down by legislators. If he keeps working at this phase and with this mentality he will not be able to do many of the things he said he would. Not only that but anything that he wants to do will probably continue to be shut down.

Maybe Trump should spend less time Tweeting and more time finding an effective solution. Obamacare policy premiums have been souring ever since Trump first proposed the idea, and I don't see Trump getting his way anytime soon. Trump seems very eager to create change but he does not seem like he wants to go through all of the hard work. Hopefully this will send a message to Trump regarding his policy, and will force him to change the way he does things if he ever hopes to pass something of this magnitude.

Republicans often suggest that Obamacare is “collapsing” without ever acknowledging the role they’ve played in undermining the law and the state insurance exchanges it created. If Republicans in Washington really do want to protect their constituents from higher premiums and reduced competition among insurers, killing the cost-sharing subsidies would be exactly the wrong thing to do. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.

I think that this article was a interesting one. I agree with ben in which it might be in trumps best interest to continue Obamacare in order to get some of the other things he wants to do faster. I also agree that trump should not so much on tweeter and focus more on running this country. I have never seen a president use this platform as much as he does.

I would generally agree with the comments above in that Trump should seek to prioritize tackling issues and campaign promises that have more support across the political aisle. This could include increased funding for infrastructure, something he made repeated reference to throughout his campaign.
