Hans Rosling's 200 Countries, 200 Years, 4 Minutes - The Joy of Stats - BBC Four

This is a very interesting short video from a section of 'The Joy of Stats' that tells the story of the world in 200 countries over 200 years using 120,000 numbers - in just four minutes. Plotting life expectancy against income for every country since 1810, the video shows how the world we live in is radically different from the world most of us imagine.

This is a great video. I believe that in the nearly future, lots of asian countries will start to catch up with the western countries in terms of income and life expectancy. China especially, will have a great jump in the income per capital, since the slow down in population growth and speed up in economics growth.

Where did I see this video from??? This is an awesome video. Looks like India and China are starting to accelerate a bit more shortly after 1970s as well as many Asian countries. The video should have added some projected growth for the next 20 years just to give us some ideas in the future even though it would not be very precise but roughly close. Of course, many of us knows that the higher income is, the higher the life expectancy gets. Life is expensive these days.

Great Video! It is always refreshing to take a broader view in order to get a general sense of where we are headed and what the trends are. It is interesting to see how most Asian countries have started to see more growth. This is expected as there has been high economic growth from technological advances which will lead to a better life expectancy.
