This is interesting as Priceline has many competitors in America and Britain. In Asia i know that the concept of booking tickets and hotels online has not been very common because people go to travel agents; but people have gradually started using websites such as Priceline to book tickets and its a new market for Priceline.

This move also has potential to leave many people in the travel agent industry to be jobless. As more firms begin to prefer websites over word of mouth.

Many travel agencies have lost business since cites like Priceline and Expedia have become an easier, faster way of booking. The expansion of Priceline will make traveling both within Asia and to Asia from other continents easier. Still travel agents do lose. This can be related to what we were talking about on Friday, that there are always winners and losers. The question remains how to compensate the losers.
