On anniversary, Obama defends economic stimulus
This article dicusses Obama's defense of his year old stimulus package. He issued statements trying to ensure the public, skeptical of its progress, that the package has done good for the economy. "Our work is far from over but we have rescued this economy from the worst of this crisis," he said. He said in 2010 it will continue to create and/or save atleast 1.5 million more jobs. All this comes at a time of opposing majority in congress and a linger of doubt from many Americans on Obama's success.

No doubt that this recent campaign by the Obama administration is a way to reach voters. The Democrats need to convince voters that the Democratic party is what the country needs to continue this economic success.
I agree with Kevin about trying to reach voters. It is good however that Obama is defending his stimulus plan. We will only have to wait and see about the results.
I agree with Kendra that Obama defending the stimulus plan is a good thing...well obviously, but I think this shows that he believes this will be best for our country and that we should all support it, and it is a good sign that he has not changed policy.
I would agree that Obama is trying to reach voters, but as the article points out, so are Republicans by pointing out flaws. I think this article is a reminder that economic policy does not happen in a political vacuum. I also think it is important for the American people to wait and see for themselves how the stimulus package works and not rely on political campaigns of either party to make an informed opinion on the success.
