For Chip Makers, the Next Battle Is in Smartphones

The semiconductor industry is growing in demand. Companies are investing all their time and money in producing the next, most complex items at lowest price possible. Chip developers are focusing on smartphones, tiny laptops and tablet-style devices. Consumers will benefit due to the increase in competition and innovation of chip designers.

I read this article as well and thought of the lecturer from the economic conference. I thought about what he said about the technological revolution within the next ten years and I believe that this will be one of the industries that leads the forefront of the new technological age.

I also read this article and thought it was very interesting because of how cut throat this industry can be and how companies are forced to be ahead of the game in research and development if they want to be profitable.

i agree, i think that this industry will be one of the new technological age that the speaker talked of. It, however, may be a hard industry to tap into because companies must do continuous research to have the most advanced technology, which also is costly.
