This is a positive move by President Obama. It is vital that the United States strengthens their relationship with Pacific Asia, especially with Asians giants, China and Japan. These economies heavily contribute to the economic welfare of the world and it is key for the United States to have a strong alliance with them. Furthermore, it is key that President Obama is initiating talks with North Korea to find a positive solution to their nuclear program.

This is definitely a good move. I especially like that President Obama is stressing the importance of the trip to Americans. I think many Americans don't understand the importance of positive relations with the countries America does business with, so I hope that the administration continues to explain things in layman's terms.

I agree both with Taleb and Christina. Even though cooperation is always a good thing, it is especially important for the US and China. So far, I think that the US and China have been in good relationship with each other, but it is always good to firmly establish relationship one more time. The influence of China on the US economy as well as other economies is huge. Thus, I am very glad that President Obama decided to renew ties with China and other Asian countries.

I agree with these comments immensely, however I also believe that its is important for the United states to continue growing its partnership with India too. India, like China is a rapidly growing country, and within the next five years it is said to grow higher than China as per its economy. Its good to know that President Obama is doing all that he can, amidst these poor economic times, and having everything else on his plate, to be able to strengthen the United States' ties with Asian countries', the future's next economical superpowers!

It is encouraging to see the United States and China engaging in positive conversations. China' role in the global economy is too large for the United States to ignore.
