Although the IMF and World Bank may have good intentions for Turkey, and it is possible that their policies ARE best for the country, its past of failed achievements hangs over its head. We can only hope that the policies which IMF and World Bank are pursuing do not have ulterior (developed country oriented) motives which are not in the best interest of the people of Turkey. However even assuming they are implementing good policy and the protesters are unaware of these positive effects, it is the job of these institutions to take into consideration the concerns of the actual working class of a country and not just its politicians.
