Donald Trump voiced his support Saturday about the passage of a second stimulus package. The Republican party has been vocal about not being for the second round of stimulus. Currently both Democrats and Republicans are in favor of giving monetary payments to households, small businesses loans and bailing out the airline industry. The main argument remaining is whether the subsidies for households should be $600 or $400 weekly and for how long. A large reason for the Republican push is President Trump's recent COVID diagnosis. His stance on the virus as been very defensive so far, so it will be interesting how the onset of this diagnosis will change his views on American's needs.

I agree that it will be interesting to see if he changes his stance on the stimulus package, but I feel that he won’t. I think that he already has assessed American’s needs, but at the same time has to think about the budget deficit. We don’t know how long the virus is going to be around and yes, pumping money into the economy stimulates it, but if the virus is going to be around for longer than anticipated we could have the same fading of the stimulus that we are seeing now. Then what? This would put us back in the same situation and I think people are underestimating how long it is going to take to get out of the hole we are already in.
Trump has downplayed the virus for a long time and I don't think that him contracting the virus would make any difference in the way he thinks. He is still going to push for a second stimulus package. From the news today and President's video message, it seems that the President is doing well and will be out of the hospital and back to the Oval Office soon. His speedy recovery will only further his claim that the covid is just like the flu. Therefore, I don't think that President having contracted the virus would change anything.
I don't think that his contraction of the virus is really going to cha get his view. I believe he is going to go forward with the second stimulus package and since he is about to be fully recovered, he would not say that it is not as bad and just like the normal flu. Therefore, because of this, I think that the President is not going to have mch of a different opinion.
I think that him getting COVID is barely going to change his stance and he is going to leverage him feeling better as a way of showing strength and courage which we know people love seeing. A stimulus might end up coming into play but I think it's unlikely that his getting sick will make any difference. I think he is going to target a certain mindest who believes that COVID is just like the flu and he is going to ask everyone to focus on pushing the economy forward. If he does not do all of the above then he will be cleary be going against what he has stood for and that will really show weak character something his followers don't like seeing. I hope everything turns out well so that elections can through smoothly.
It seems like the president is doing very well with his recovery so much like Haris pointed out, his view points on the virus are likely not going to change a whole lot. However, it would be very troubling if the President of the United States succumbed to the virus. This would create quite a bit of uncertainty. I would wonder how they would handle that so close to the election. Would they push the election back and have someone like Pence run instead? What would happen within the world economy? I would like to see the President have a well recovery and hopefully get more specific ideas out of both candidates in the next debate considering the first one was abysmal to say the least.
