Trump Signs $2 Trillion Bill as U.S. Virus Cases Pass 100,000

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/27/world/coronavirus-live-news-updates.html

On Friday, President Trump signed a $2 trillion bill. The bill will provide a $1,200 check to millions of Americans. The stimulus check is meant to give Americans some spending money, so when retail and restaurants open back up, people have ab incentive to go spend money and stimulate the market. I think this boost will play a vital role in America's recovery from the corona virus.

This stimulus check sounded like a great idea in theory but there are a lot of people that are left out. Students over the age of 17 that are claimed as dependents won't be receiving a check. What about the college students who's only income was an on campus job and now are struggling to pay for school, housing, etc.? Elders who are also claimed as dependents won't be receiving anything either. Also people who made around $99,000 in 2019 but are unemployed in 2020 will not receive anything. Not to mention, people who just had newborns during this pandemic will not receive a stimulus check until the year 2021. There are a lot of discrepancies within this package that I believe could have been smoothed out if more time was taken to create the package.
