Recently, a group of construction workers started a protest against Vladimir Putin's economic policies, in St. Petersburg. It is the first organized protest against Putin in a long time. The workers have gone off work and are complaining for not getting paid for 4 months. It will be interesting how that affects the unemployment rate in Russia as Russian firms tend to not fire employees.

This seems so eerily similar to practices during the Soviet Union. Workers in Russia need stronger unions, but I don't see that being an easy task to accomplish under Putin.
Putin does not seem to be winning himself any friends recently. Workers not being paid for four months is ridiculous. I agree that there should be stronger unions and/or protections for workers in Russia. Especially considering the recent economic woes Russia has been facing in regards to oil and sanctions.
