Obamacare Penalty May Not Be High Enough For Middle Incomes

With the newly instituted health insurance referred to as Obamacare more and more people are starting to gain coverage. However this new form or health insurance also comes with a penalty for those who do not have insurance. The affordable care act was created to make it easy for all people, regardless of income to gain coverage.  The fee for not having this coverage has increased in 2015 to $325 or 2% of annual income. This is up from the $95 in the previous years. The idea here is to push more people to sign up for the program. However many researchers have determined that this price penalty is too inexpensive for the middle class. People still find it cheaper to not have coverage at all. These are predicted to be the people making double the poverty rate.

It is interesting to see some of the unexpected issues that Obamacare has brought in the spotlight such as the penalty one must pay for opting out of coverage .

This is interesting for young Americans who are transitioning to jobs where they must wait 90 days for coverage. Should they penalized the 325 when its cheaper to wait for their coverage.

I think the decision to sign up to health care should be made by people since america is a democratic country. I understand why there's a need for everyone to sign up for health care. However, i think it should be in the hand of the market

I think that Obamacare was not thoroughly thought though before implementation. Now we are seeing other issues arise because of it. Don't get me wrong, I think it is very helpful for some but I think it has negative effects and some may outweigh the benefits of it.
