Restoring the Pacific Through International Trade Laws

This is an interesting article talking about protecting the Pacific Ocean. It talks about the importance of this resource to trade and businesses around the world. It states a major issue of over fishing in the Pacific and gives a couple facts on it. It is interesting how they are taking the idea of the importance for the Pacific with trade to attack this situation. The article raises some interesting points and is a pretty good read.

The Pacific Ocean is such a valuable resource that it needs to be protected by international law. One idea to help this is not allowing people to fish baby fish and so the population can replace itself. But unless people are there to enforce laws it is hard to maintain them. In order to deal with this countries should form a pact together and exclude countries that do not abide by the rules. Or find some way to fine them. We need to find that incentive, which might be money or providing education. I'm guessing the over fishing is caused by people who are dependent on the income and thus do not have the money to just not fish. We should try to help those people so they have another source of income. People always need to look to the future, unfortunately this is forgotten. This is one way how economic disparities affect every part of our world.

This is a good outlook on the situation. Many people do base their lives off of fishing and it is how they support themselves and their family. We would need to supply some incentive and support to get them fishing less as this is their only way of income.
