It’s Time to Make Vague Software Patents More Clear

 An interesting take on where the USPTO should go with software patent laws. The article says that current laws don't encourage innovation and gives several suggestions on how we could improve that.

I'm actually surprised that the patent claim system the author talks about isn't already in place. I guess I just assumed that it was since it seems so intuitive. I would think that a system designed to protect the intellectual property of applicants would have clear boundaries of that property.
