US equivalents

This very interesting article, maps out both the GDP and population of states within America and compares them to foreign countries with the nearest equivalence. Some states are compared to countries which would come as no surprise, though others are astonishing - Maryland's GDP is equivalent to that of South Africa. It would be interesting to include the dept of US states in comparison to foreign countries as well. This map truly shows how good we have it here in the United States..

Word rob, another interesting state is texas. They have an economy about the same size as russia but with a population thats more than 5 times smaller than russia. Really goes to show how dominate the US is in the global economy.

It would give people a more accurate view if the GDP and the population can be combined, by which i mean, GDP per capita.

I also think it would be interesting, like mentioned on the website, if they included a measurement of personal well-being. It would be interesting to see if the countries who would be the same or a different one. I also agree with the comment about Texas. It's amazing how ones state in the U.S, that is so much smaller, has the equivalent GDP to an entire country. Very interesting article and could be done with many other variables.

This is a really cool article! This clearly demonstrates how dominating the United States can be and the United States certainly plays a pivotal role in globalization. I'm glad that I'm born in this country.
