GDP grows 3.2% in first quarter, helped by consumer spending

The economy has had its biggest increase in consumer spending in three years. The increased spending has helped the economy grow by 3.5% in the first quarter. The rate of growth in the economy is not huge, but shows that there has been some improvements. The signs of life in the economy is helping Americans feel more at ease and has given consumers confidence to spend.
