The importance of India changing their stance on climate change policy and emissions caps is important, but as the article says this move has bigger implications. India is taking initiative to transition from being seen as a developing country to a developed one, and although they still have growing to do are being recognized more by "developed" countries. India is preparing, like China, to be one of the global economic players in the near future.

India is progressively moving towards positive economy. It is very interesting to know that they are not only caring about their economy but also want to take a step towards climate change plan. It is a plus for india because even the richest countries like the US are not willing to step up their game when it comes to global warming.
