A VACCINE WONT CURE THE GLOBAL ECONOMY

It has been in the news recently that there is a vaccine that will be realized later this year for Coronavirus. Some are saying that it will reach the United States by October, but some are saying that the Vaccination will arrive by the middle of next year. Distribution could be a really big problem not only to different countries, but within countries as well.

An economist Neil Shearing talked about how the economy will have many potential outcome once the vaccine get distributed. He said that only about 1 billion vaccinations will be sent out across the world and the rest next year in 2021. there will be many important things which would need to be looked into like their will be special syringes which will be needed for the vaccine. But there are many people in different countries that are not wanting the vaccination if it will reach by next year. Only about 60% of people in France are going to get a vaccination if it reaches next year,  and in other part of Europe and America only 70% of people are planning to take the vaccine when it is released. Biotech and pharma stocks like Moderna have reached great height because they promised the vaccine for the Cornavirus. They have reached many differned traders and even on the robinhood platform.

I think that this is going to be a blood battle just for the vaccine in a couple of few months. even though some people say that it might be distributed globally this year I feel like it is very unlikely for that to happen. when the vaccines come out it is from that time when we see who are really the important people who need the vaccine and who will have to wait till next year.

If you were told you wait till next year for the vaccine, would you get the vaccine next year, or would you be okay without a vaccine?

I think that even though many people will rush to get the vaccine there will be a huge amount of people who will be skeptical. For instance, I come from a family of doctors and they have told me that it would be best to wait out and see how the vaccine works before jumping into getting it when released. This is because new vaccines can sometimes bring about really harmful changes to the body and adverse reactions. Others might not get it as they would not want to waste their money since the virus would have anyways done its time and gone away. By the end of next year, in my opinion, we will see a complete end to the coronavirus but not before that. With all that said I am still hopeful for a vaccine to come as early as possible.

I wouldn’t mind waiting for the vaccine since there are a lot of other people who will need it more urgently, for example, the elderly. However, making vaccines readily available for the general public will be a huge task for every government. Considering the high demand for the COVID vaccine and the limited supply, governments would need to make sure that the price of the vaccine is regulated so that people in need get it. It will also be interesting to see how the developing economies would act once the vaccine is available because the black market of drugs and medicines is huge in low-income countries. I agree with Syed and also hope that the coronavirus fades out by the end of next year so we can see things coming back to normal, however a vaccine will definitely speed up that process.

I agree with Syed that many will be skeptical of a vaccine. Most Americans cannot even agree to wear a mask, so why would anyone expect them to be okay with a shot? This virus will have adverse effects on the economy and world as a whole. I do not believe that it will ever "go away" such is the nature of viruses. However, in the coming years, we can adapt to it and have measures that can control the spread without taking too many liberties away.
