The Restructuring of Rusal Saving the Oligarchs
This article discusses Putin's relationship with the Oligarchs of Rusal, a large aluminum company. The relationship has recently changes and now the Oligarchs are working with Putin and the relationship is much less adversarial then it was a few years ago.

This move by Putin gives an interesting look into the financial situation of the world. Although maintaining his image as an anti-oligarch figure, Putin knows that (like the American car companies) some firms are too big to fail, and preventing the negative impact on his likability is worth the amount of money needed to keep this firm going. It will be interesting to see how far Putin is willing to bend to the needs of the oligarchs in order to prevent high unemployment and a fall in popularity.
It is interesting to see how the situation has changed with Putin actually working to support some of the businesses owned by the oligarchs rather than his stance in the video we watched. It will be interesting to see if he persists in bailing out these companies or if he reverts back to his original stance on the issue.
