China has taken over the reigns in the auto industry surpassing the likes the Detroit auto industry. This year China will become the world’s largest car producer. Speculation has been circulating that the Chinese are looking to bid for American car companies such as Ford and GM. With world class technologies China can become a dominant force in the auto industry.

The American auto industry is in big trouble. Ford and GM have a lot of work to do if they are going to make up ground on Honda, Toyota and other emerging foregn automakers. I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel for American firms.
I have read numerous articles discussing the huge dilemmas the US auto industry are currently facing. They have huge strides to make to catch up with Japanese automakers and more recently Hyundai-Kia from Korea. However, I would have never guessed that China is projected to displace Japan as the world's largest car producer. We are already facing stiff competition from Japanese automakers and with the China market beginning to expand this may spell the end for our once booming auto industry.
